SUNNYVALE, CA (July 8, 2019) – On Monday, July 15th, 2019, Social Venture Circle (SVC), an organization formed in 2018 from the merger of Social Venture Network and Investors’ Circle, is launching #theNEXTeconomySVC, a social media campaign to understand what actions and strategies leaders in the worlds of business and finance believe will be required to improve the way the world does business to generate a sustainable, equitable, and inclusive 21st-century economy. SVC members and non-members who are interested in participating should use the campaign hashtag, #theNEXTeconomySVC, and share their answers to the question, “How do you define the NEXT Economy?” on social media. All participants who use the hashtag will be eligible to win a complimentary one-year membership at SVC. To learn more, see here

“SVC’s vision for the NEXT Economy is one that is regenerative, just, and prosperous for all,” said Valerie Red-Horse Mohl, Executive Director, Social Venture Circle. “Sustainability is no longer enough to confront the challenges we face as a global community. SVC believes the way forward will require moving beyond sustainability to regenerative systems, expanding diversity to include true social and economic inclusion, and broadening the definition of every venture’s success beyond profits to growth that benefits everyone. The NEXT Economy campaign will gather insights from impact investors and business leaders around the world to help us chart the way forward.”

Now on its fourth decade, Social Venture Circle’s pioneering members include Ben & Jerry’s, Eileen Fisher, Honest Tea, Kind Bars, Birkenstock, Seventh Generation, and more. The organization has also incubated organizations such as the American Sustainable Business Council (ASBC), B Lab, Net Impact, Business of Social Responsibility (BSR), Opportunity Collaboration (OC) and Social Venture Institute. To date, SVC has facilitated early stage investments of $250 million, all going towards businesses with a social and/or environmental purpose embedded into their company DNA.

“Over the years, SVC has led the way by supporting thousands of ventures, incubating dozens of new networks, and facilitating hundreds of millions worth of investments in purpose-driven organizations,” said Red-Horse Mohl. “I have full confidence that the NEXT Economy will be led by SVC members and investors in our community who are changing the way investment is done by redirecting the flow of capital to the communities that need it most: women and founders of color.”

SVC, with a uniquely rich, deep, and diverse background, has positioned itself as the undeniable leader helping business and progressive organizations to adapt, thrive, and maximize their impact in the NEXT Economy. Leaders throughout the world of responsible business have selected the SVC community as the place to guide the continued journey,” said Jeffrey Hollender. Hollender, the co-founder and former CEO of Seventh Generation and the current CEO of the American Sustainable Business Council (ASBC), is a long-time SVC member.

“From the outset, SVC has been a major innovator, largely because of its focus on the power of higher consciousness. These are times of such crisis for our world, its people, and our collapsing environment- so much so, that the UN is leading the clarion call for all to support the 17 Global Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs). Moreover, a devastating global solar event is now widely predicted to manifest in 8 years, so our time is short for mobilizing our people to save our Earth.  SVC was the first powerful group capable of starting the business shift from profit to Earth survival, and is in a strong position to lead the next great leap forward,” said Susan Davis Moora, SVC Member since the 1980’s, and founder of the 40 KINS Innovation Networks.
